Freehand Sharpening Guide 1/2"
These ship out starting June 16.
The first of it’s kind - this is a guide to help you learn the 40/40 freehand sharpening technique. It is specifically designed for the geometry of the 1/2” AH Push Cut parabolic fluted bowl gouges. This guide sticks to the gouge using powerful neodymium rare earth magnets. It prevents rolling the flute too far closed, which is the most common mistake for those learning the 40/40 grind. It also shows exactly what the profile of the edge should look like with a 40 degree sweep at the tip of the tool. In combination with the AH Angle Wrench, the Freehand Sharpening Guide makes the 40/40 grind simple, easy, and repeatable.
-Precision 3D printed with PLA Tough filament
-Accurate to within 1/10th mm
-Made with 8 neodymium rare earth magnets
-Prevents closing the flute too far when sharpening the wings (the most common mistake - which can create a duller bevel angle and more aggressive sweep)
-40 degree angle built into the front shows where the profile on the sharpened edge should be
-Simplifies freehand sharpening with a platform
-Comes with a magnetic cradle to keep it close at hand on your lathe
I have been selling woodturning tools consistently since I began teaching in 2011. My business is home grown and self funded. I only sell the tools that I believe to be the very best for my students and customers and I stand behind my products 100%.
