Ashley Harwood 36 inch handle
This is my patent pending handle system that allows for both easy and fast tool changing and safe tool storage inside of the handle after use. The quick tool change/removal feature makes it fast and easy to change between different handle lengths when different leverage is needed and allows for easier, faster sharpening without the handle attached. No allen keys required.
Protect your sharp blades and your hands with this unique blade storage system. Sharp blades can be kept safely within the handle, with only a quick twist to lock them in place.
Made from ten layers of axial and co-axial carbon fiber mesh composite, these handles are exceptionally strong and light at the same time. This USA made handle material has a flex strength of 100-150 ksi. This carbon fiber composite does not transmit vibration to the turner’s hands like steel or aluminum handles. They are virtually indestructible and highly impact resistant.
These handles are 1.4” diameter with a round shape that is easy and comfortable to hold. Weight is balanced towards the front of the handle, which is optimal for turning where you want to maintain pressure on the tool rest. I designed these with a slightly larger 1.5” hex aluminum end to prevent rolling when you set the handle down.
I offer these handles in six different lengths on my website, with virtually any custom length available by request.
I recommend the 36 inch handle for use with the AH Finisher Bottom Bowl Gouge or with hollowing tools that need the extra leverage.
This handle is meant to be used with the AH bolsters and is also compatible with SB Tools bolsters (However, the SB bolsters will not store inside the end of the handle). Bolsters sold separately. Made in the USA from USA made materials.
