Bowl of Gratitude

My good friend Geoff Richardson asked me to make a bowl in memory of his mother, who recently passed away. This bowl will have a special purpose in his family, hopefully for generations to come. He also had several acorns made, and each one holds a small amount of his mother's ashes. The idea is that at dinner, each member of the family takes an acorn. Once the meal is done, each person says something that they're thankful for as they place the acorn back in the bowl.

Geoff is a hair stylist and owns Lava salons along with his wife, Noel Richardson. He is also someone who is very much involved in the creative community in Charleston. He has hosted at Pecha Kucha, and has also been involved with the planning committee for Pecha Kucha. He organized ChArt Walk in Avondale, a series of unique murals that beautify an otherwise dull alley that runs behind his salon and Gene's Hoffbrau. Geoff and his wife are also involved in the Lipsync for Lungs event that happens each year to benefit the American Lung Association.
